IVF is a traditional method in which scientists select eggs and sperm that are healthy and of good quality to fertilize them by letting the sperm penetrate the egg naturally in a laboratory plate. When fertilization occurs, it becomes an embryo, which is then placed back into the uterus and pregnancy occurs.
